Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Performs circulation and/or scrub duties during operating room procedures.
Coordinates pre and post-op care.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Must complete all education assigned and required for the position, including classroom and on-line courses.
Minimum EducationX Graduate of a Program in Discipline - RNRequired SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS) X Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS - within 6 months of hire) X Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS - within 6 months of hire) __ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Preferred Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Other__________________________ Other_________________________Licenses:
Registered Nurse in State of Tennessee or Compact StateMinimum Work ExperiencePrevious experience preferred.
Performs other duties as assigned.
